Ukraine Considers New Land Grain Route Through Moldova
Ukraine and Moldova are discussing the expansion of railway grain exports through Moldovan territory to the Romanian port of Constanta. Kyiv is asking Chișinău to reduce railway tariffs by about 50% to make the route economically viable.
It is estimated that such a corridor could transport up to 4.5 million tons of grain per year, which is equivalent to about 10% of Ukraine's exports. The idea has become more relevant after maritime shipments through the Black Sea sharply decreased again.
